1. C.I.A.

What is the R.C.I.A?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is designed to bring people into the
Catholic faith and assist all Catholics in the ongoing process of conversion. This Rite has a history dating back to the Church's first centuries and was reintroduced and implemented by the Second Vatican Council in 1974. But RCIA is much more than an exteded or updated version of "convert classes," rather it's a proces of conversion for all, a communal journey in faith.

This journey begins in September and continues throughout the Church year. It is a journey that is spiritual, social and educational. Through the celebration of the Sacred Liturgies, weekly presentations and discussions, we move from the basic beliefs to Christian teaching to acceptance and ultimately to the celebration of the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. Throught the process, those seeking intiation in the sacramental life of the Church, as well as the whole faith community, are called to participate through prayer, meditation, listening, asking questions, and sharing their faith experience.
